About Us

  Liverpool RSPB at Conwy

The Liverpool RSPB Local Group was formed in 1972 to support the work of the RSPB in protecting birds and their environment. Liverpool is centrally placed in a string of coastal sites and reserves in North West England and North Wales from Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay in the north to Glan Conwy in the west .

Not far away the upland areas of the Pennines, Snowdonia, and the Lake District are easily reached. Along the coast to the north of the city a line of local and national nature reserves take the birdwatcher to the River Ribble estuary while to the south lie the  estuaries of the  Mersey and Dee which are of international importance for wintering wildfowl and waders.

A program of slide and film presentations covering a  cross section of wildlife interests are held during the year and frequent and varied, outdoor trips are arranged to sites of interest,  throughout the North West of England  and North Wales.

Eight indoor meetings are held during the year with a four month break during the Summer months. Held on the third Monday of the month, in the church hall of Mossley Hill Parish Church, ( St. Mathew and St. James ) at the junction of Rose Lane and Mossley Hill road. Meetings commence at 7.30pm and last about 2 hours with an interval for refreshments.  Admission charge of £1 apply.
